Selection skills and advantages of gas sensors
The so-called gas sensor refers to the sensor used to detect whether there is a specific gas in a certain area or to continuously measure the concentration of gas components. With the continuous development of society, gas sensors play more and more roles. It can be said that most of the benefits we feel in life also come from them. For example, check the air quality, check the alcohol detector of a drunk driver, etc. Gas sensors can all show relatively effective functions.

According to different working principles, gas sensors have various classifications, such as thermal gas sensors, electrochemical gas sensors, electrochemical gas sensors, magnetic gas analysis sensors, optical gas sensors, etc., which play an irreplaceable role in gas research and analysis in all walks of life.

Selection Skills of Gas Sensor

The gas sensor is a high-tech product. For those who are new to this kind of product, they may not know it very well. Therefore, they do not know what factors to choose from. Here are some common gas sensor selection techniques: the gas detected by the gas sensor is generally divided into three types: 1. non-toxic or low toxic flammable 2. nonflammable toxic 3. flammable toxic.

For these three different situations, we generally need to choose different gas sensors according to different detection objects. For example, the detection alarm device containing combustible gas sensor can be selected for measuring explosive gas, and the detection alarm device containing relevant gas sensor can be selected for measuring toxic and harmful gas. For example, formaldehyde detectors containing formaldehyde sensors can be used to detect indoor formaldehyde gas.

In addition to selecting relevant gas sensors, we also need to determine the types of applications of gas sensors, which are generally divided into fixed and portable. For long-term leak detection in production or storage posts, fixed gas detectors containing relevant gas sensors shall be selected; For example, portable gas detection equipment and specifications can be used for other maintenance detection, emergency detection, entry detection and patrol detection.

Advantages of gas sensors

1. Response time: the time required for the output change to reach the specified percentage of the stable value (generally 70% or 90%) when the gas concentration contacted by the sensor changes step by step.

2. Sensitivity: the difference or ratio between the output (voltage, current, resistance, etc.) of the element at a certain gas concentration under the specified working conditions and the output in clean air or reference gas.

3. Linearity: the deviation degree between the actual output value curve of the sensor and a specified straight line.

4. Stability: Under specified working conditions and within a certain working period, the output change of the sensor shall not exceed the allowable error.

5. Selectivity: refers to the sensor‘s ability to identify the gas type.

Gas sensor is one of the key research and development directions in the current sensor field. In many industries that we are familiar with, there are use scenarios for gas sensors. Gas sensors span functional materials, electronic ceramics, optoelectronic components, MEMS technology, nanotechnology, organic polymers and many other fundamental and applied disciplines. The gas sensor with excellent performance can further improve the level of information collection, processing and deep processing, enhance the accuracy of real-time prediction of safety accidents, continuously solve the hidden danger of accidents, and greatly reduce the occurrence of safety accidents, especially major accidents. It can effectively realize the electronization of safety supervision and production safety supervision and management, change passive disaster relief into active disaster prevention, and make production safety move towards scientific management.
